Citrulline, an amino acid in watermelon, is involved in production of NO (Nitric Oxide) which improves blood flow to muscles, allowing for a greater delivery of recovery nutrients and anabolic compounds. After a hard, heavy workout, it helps having fruits such as peach, cherries and banana to get your insulin spike going and to get the fructose and glucose into those muscles, so you can recover and GROW.
